Apple's iPhone 3G - Launch in Malaysia by Maxis - Live Blogging...

Nokia's Symbian Foundation out to kick Google's Android's Ass ?? Apple's Ass is on The Line Too!!

A few days after i posted about my take on Google's Android on my previous post , I read about the recent Nokia's USD 410 Million purchase of the remaining 48% of Symbian's share that's not Nokia's...

Nokia pledges to offer free open source applications in the future... Android is doing the same but up till now , the whole project is still being postponed... Apple is currently finishing up on the opening of their App Store... sadly Apple will be selling some of those applications.. which means once Symbian Foundation and Android starts producing something for the mass market , Apple will be forced to offer free applications eventually .. and that is very very good..

All these open source stuff is really interesting.. it's like a huge canvas for developers to create applications for the end users to benefit from...i'm pretty sure that the future phone softwares won't be as boring as what it is now (iPhone's apps are of a different league for now..)

and the idea of these open source materials being so easily available on mobile phones in the future really will change how people use their mobile devices..With Nokia's Symbian Foundation urge to smack everyone from Google's Android to Apple's App Store to Research in Motion's Blackberry to LiMo... it's gonna be a very very interesting industry in the coming years..

WWDC 2008 and 3G iPhones - it's real..

Not sure if you guys are keeping updated... but in less than a few hours , WWDC 2008 will be starting..and it'll mark the year of iPhone... from SDK for developers to 3G for consumers..

I'll update here for more details when everything is official ...

iPhone is not available in Malaysia YET!!!

too all you people who wants the iPhone , please bear in mind that it's not freaking available in ASIA just yet... watever phone that you see people selling or using , it's considered as parallel imported units.. and they are already being tampered with... it's either software of hardware unlocked.. those versions are not covered under the Apple's warranty.. so no matter how fucking cool you look when you're using the iPhone , if you face any problem , you can come to us (apple resellers) for help.. but if we can't help you much , don't show temper and shit.. it's pointless... the buttons don't work?? send it back to Apple US laa.. see what they've got to say...

and for those who wants to know.. we have no freaking idea on who's gonna be the service provider for the iPhone or how much it'll cost when it arrives.. we don't even know when it's gonna be launched here... so if you guys want to be updated , leave your email or contact to your favourite apple guys... they'll be more than happy to update you ...

as far as the rumors go , the new iPhones will have 3G and bigger capacity (ipod touch already has got 32GB..) ... so WAIT FOR IT!!!!!

iPhone/iPod Touch app that controls DigiDesign's Pro Tools.. how cool is that..

Alex le Lievre created the best 3rd party app for the iPhone/iPod Touch so far.. it's not a lame game which require you to utilize the gyroscope or some pointless app that does nothing except waste your time showing off the touch screen...

what Alex le Lievre did was ... he wrote an app that could control Pro Tools using the Wi-Fi network.. it's freaking cool... imagine you're all alone setting up the drums for a recording session and you'll need to go back and forth 20-50 times just to get the kick and snare to sound right... with this , you can basically control the levels from the drum room itself (monitor using a headphone of course..)

this is definitely the most impressive piece of 3rd party app for the iPhone/iPod Touch so far... check out the video below...

Apple has done it again... this time , it's iPod's time to shine...

hmmm.. where to start... I'll start with iPod Shuffle first... it's still 1GB but they have a new colour scheme for the whole range of iPods (refer pic below).. so there's not much to talk about...



Now... the redesigned iPod Nano !!! new colour scheme... bigger screen... still with the slim body... but a quite distasteful new design... it looks weird.. it looks bloody weird.. it's like a shortened iPod video... it doesn't have the Nano feel anymore.. it's not so Nano now... it's like a fat nano after being flattened by a steamroller.. haigh.. it's just ugly...







Now as for the replacement of iPod Video , Apple introduces the iPod Classic (i guess video playback is considered a 'classic' feature for ipods now..) The colour option is now either Black or Silver.. The best part about the iPod classic , the capacity is now at 80GB and 160GB!!!! 160GB!!!!! isn't that just crazy.. that's like 40,000 songs on it... ahaha... crazy Apple people... they just won't stop creating and upgrading the most interesting portable music player of this lifetime...




Another new addition to the iPod family is the iPod touch. it's the exact copy of the iPhone except that it's slightly smaller. Comes with Multi-touch interface. just like the iPhone... it also has got built-in Wifi which enables you to browse the web (streaming youtube , emails.. bla bla bla..) it's basically the stripped down version of the iPhone... it's like a personal portable device which is handy especially when you're on a long journey alone... not only you can use it as an iPod , it's also a device for you to hook up to the internet... the only problem is the capacity which comes in either 8GB or 16GB... which in my own opinion , it's too small...

iPhone..my first upclose experience..

I just saw the phone that's got the whole world talking.. of course it's the Apple iPhone.. so one of my customer came in looking for an accesory for his 'ipod'.. he was looking for the iPod socks.. and he wanted to try it on so that it fits.. then he took out his iPhone..

my first reaction was of course 'Wow.. iPhone... nice...' ... ahahhaa... most of you knew that the iPhone won't be here anytime soon.. because Apple will only be launching it early next year in Asia.. he was kind enough to let us play around with it...

Anyways , the iPhone that I saw can't make nor receive calls.. that's because the iPhone is locked to AT&T network in the US.. but suprisingly everything else works.. all I need to do is to log in to a WIFI network and ... i can surf the net.. smoothly..

The 'pinching' effect is damn cool.. zooming in and out is so easy.. if the vertical view is too small for viewing , turn it sideways.. and you'll have a 'widescreen' view.. browsing the web is so easy.. and it's Safari.. so you do get a full feature of what a browser should be...Maps works well too..

The camera works too.. 2MP .. you can take pictures with it.. even landscape view... too bad it can't capture videos.. but viewing pictures , watching videos.. no problem... if you saw any promo videos on the iPhone , you'll notice how to navigate through a stock pile of pictures.. it's where you put your finger on the touch screen and just 'flip' through your collection... it works SMOOTHLY!!! it's so smooth doing that... it felt so good doing that.. ahahhaha... if only all electronic devices has that feature.. it's also a full feature iPod.. and basically you can't go wrong with something like the 'finger-action' to work with Cover Flow...

Nice things I like about the iPhone ,
*full screen
*touch screen (i'm in love with the 'finger-action')
*Built-in Safari
*normal view and 'widescreen' view for internet browsing , photos , music and videos..
*iPod features
*the size of the iPhone is just nice..
*solid touch screen

Not so nice things that I found out ... so far..
*typing needs practise..
*the earphones jack is fucked-up.. it's hard to explain.. basically not every earphones/headphones jack can be used.. the port is fitted deeper in the iPhone's body..(Apple's earphone's jack are slim ..)
*slightly on the heavy side
