Nine Inch Nails - Closer - Covered by Richard Cheese and Jane Distortion

First up , Richard Cheese .. with his version of 'lounge-y / swingy ' style of music... which i kindda hate.. it butchered the song.. it sounds happy.. and it makes people smile... NIN doesnt make people smile... period.

Next , Jane Distortion... I haven't heard of them before but this is a pretty good acoustic cover. I kindda like this one... its moody .. it suits the female vocals idea.. thought the original has more depth and emotion , this one is alright..

I found another cover by Maroon 5 .. which I will not post it up here because it totally sucks big time.. bands like Maroon 5 shouldn't cover 'epic' musicians like NIN.. they should just play their original stuff...

and here's the original... a video which suits the song very much... in a disturbed kindda way... love it... !!

Enjoy your week!!!

My Latest Obsession - Summer Wine

I think this is the original song.. sung by Nancy Sintra and Lee Hazlewood

and this is another cover by The Corrs and Bono..

and this is the version that got me hooked to this song.. Ville Valo and Natalia Avalon .. personally i think this version is damn sexy... not just because of Natalia Avalon in that video..( she is super sexy in it .. both with and without clothes on.. :P ) ... Ville Valo's voice is deep and sexy.. and he reminds me of Johnny Depp .. enjoy!!

Cover Songs : Estelle's No Substitute Love Love - George Michael's Faith - Limp Bizkit's Faith

I just saw the latest music video by Estelle - No Substitute Love ... It really gave me an impression of her trying to use George Michael's Faith tune... Below are both videos... it's the beginning of the video that gave me the idea.. it sounded so much like Faith .. don't you think so?? Since we're on the cover song , Limp Bizkit also did a version of Faith during their Nu-Metal days... from their 'Three Dollar Bill Y'all' album.. which was the bomb BACK THEN... hah..

Here's Estelle

David Cook's Billie Jean

A while ago , i posted an awesome version of Billie Jean by Chris Cornell... and i JUST found out that David Cook did the same version... apparently it's the version by Chris Cornell... It's not too bad... with strings and nice vocals.. but i like Chris' vocals style better... But what i hate is what the judges have to say in the end.... the black guy.. i forgot his name.. is just crap.. Paula is with her usual dramatized actions... i've got nothing to say about Simon.. ahaha..

Cover Songs : Guns & Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine (sitar version)

this is a damn good version of Sweet Child of Mine... check it out..

- We're all rockstars -

what do Kate Bush , Within Temptation and Placebo have in common??

Nothing in terms of musical genre.. but all three of them have recorded the song , Running Up That Hill... originally it's sung by Kate Bush.. and it is covered by both Within Temptation and Placebo... and here's the videos of the 3 versions...

First of , of course it'll be Kate Bush's version.. this is the original version.. this version is a more disco-ish since it's from the 80's.. but the music video is seriously intense .. thanks to the nicely choreographed dance moves... and it sort of gets creepy towards the end.. ahaha.. it's good..

Next up is Within Temptation's version.. this version starts off with an medieval/irish/folk sounding intro.. which leads to the 'gothic metal' that the band is famous for.. the video is so-so... the eye makeup on Sharon den Adel reminds me of the Hong Kong singer , Faye Wong ,

Lastly , the best version of the song for me is the one covered by Placebo... very nice depressing electronic/trip-hop - influenced track... beautiful vocals by Brian Molko , ... if you guys have heard Placebo before this , you'll recognize his unique style of vocals.. the video apparently is a collection of videos provided by fans singing the song.. cleverly edited to achieve the look and feel of the down tempo version of this song...

Cover Song : Billy Jean by Michael Jackson

This time around , I'll gonna post some Billy Jean done by other people... If you know the song , it's an upbeat disco-ish song popularized by Michael Jackson (if you didn't know that , please kill yourself...) The story of the song is quite sad actually... but MJ sang it to an uptempo danceable song... Recently I got myself Chris Cornell's latest album , Carry On , and he actually covered that song as well (i'll post a proper review on that album soon)... it's the best cover i've heard in years... it fits the song ... it's sad... his voice is beautifully depressing... here it is...

Here's other covers... this is a damn good jazzy version of it... by Alex Cornell (i dont think alex and chris is related... hmmm)

Cobra Starship is seen here at their AOL session doing an acoustic version of Billy Jean... with a lame joke in the beginning... hmmm... it's not too bad... although it's not an improvised version , it sounds good... they can sing... :)

And here's a cover by Sidewalk Prophets... hmmm... no comment?? ahahha... but that big dude can really sing!!!! it looks funny... but he can sing!!! ehehe..

Cover Song - Amy Winehouse - Rehab

was browsing... and i saw this clip.. freaking funny... it's a cover song of Amy Winehouse's Rehab .. it's about not wanting to be a human bomb.... ahahaha... check it out...

Apparently it is originated from The Bob Rivers Show

________updated________

More Rehab covers....

That is by Ingram Hill... probably one of the best that I can find in youtube..

Acoustic version...

Ukulele version by yourphoenix... she did the Rihanna's Umbrella cover as well...

Rihanna's Umbrella Cover songs...

This song was introduced to me by my good friend , Justin Ong , ... I'm not a person who listens to these stuff... but i got hooked on to this song.. The beat , the melody.. Rihanna herself is HOT... young and HOT... sexy and HOT... emmhmmmm...

anyway , I saw a few videos from youtube.com of other people covering her song... these are some of the better ones...

1. Mandy Moore (The best in my opinion)

2. Tommy Knox - nice vocals... cool style..

3.Ben Deignan - A jazzy version of it... nice...

4. Marie Digby - she looks like some goth chick... but she's singing Rihanna's Umbrella... not too bad.. and she's quite hot too... :)

5. yourphoenix - hmmmmm... no comment...
