Nine Inch Nails - Closer - Covered by Richard Cheese and Jane Distortion

First up , Richard Cheese .. with his version of 'lounge-y / swingy ' style of music... which i kindda hate.. it butchered the song.. it sounds happy.. and it makes people smile... NIN doesnt make people smile... period.

Next , Jane Distortion... I haven't heard of them before but this is a pretty good acoustic cover. I kindda like this one... its moody .. it suits the female vocals idea.. thought the original has more depth and emotion , this one is alright..

I found another cover by Maroon 5 .. which I will not post it up here because it totally sucks big time.. bands like Maroon 5 shouldn't cover 'epic' musicians like NIN.. they should just play their original stuff...

Artist/Albums that I'm listening to at the moment..

Craig Armstrong , The Space Between Us - This is a very cinematic , emotional , romantic album. Every album he does is great. I just love the way he incorporate cinematic feel into his music. The vocals for songs that contain vocals are stunningly mesmerizing.


Year Zero , Nine Inch Nails - I've been listening to his stuff since the beginning. As he progress as a musician , it shows maturity in his music as well. Its a mixture of rock and industrial/electronic genre which is just awesome.



Young Modern , Silverchair - I grew up listening to their Frogstomp album. They too have matured alot. But this album is a bit dissapointing because it didnt sound like Silverchair anymore. It's more like a brit-rock/indie band now.... but they are still good at what they are doing.


Manipulator , The Fall of Troy - It's been a while since i last heard bands like this... interesting guitar works ... that interests me alot. They're like a mixture of Mars Volta and Alexisonfire??? i'm not good at pin-pointing a specific style of music for bands today. Anyhow , they're quite interesting.


Lover's Requiem , I Am Ghost - I'm not really into these emo-ish bands.... but it's ok to listen to them sometimes... not much to comment... Certain songs have good duo vocals (male+female) performance.... guitarworks and everything else sounds the same like everything other bands in the same categories.



Next time , I'll post up Bands that I really like and have some kind of influence on me.... see yah..
